WHITE SALMON — A group of community partners is inviting the community to celebrate the launch of the Community Roots Wellness Hub in White Salmon, WA, on Wednesday, Oct. 29th, from 4 to 6 p.m. The new space is located at 432 NE Tohomish St.Â
Over the summer months, according to a press release, several local community-based agencies joined forces to improve access to a variety of services through a shared work and community space located in the heart of White Salmon.
Specifically, Washington Gorge Action Programs, The Next Door, Inc., Washington Therapists Collective, Education Service District #112, Carelon and One Community Health have been updating the building space, planning for services, and designing a collaborative approach to reach community members and increase access to supports.Â
Many community partners and local leaders had been in discussion about the severe lack of resources in Western Klickitat County and possible opportunities to address this, the press release continues. Several factors came together at just the right time for these partners to bring their vision to life. As the building became available to rent, SWACH (Southwest Washington Accountable Communities for Health) offered a grant to support the work.
The result is a true community-led effort which will be celebrated at this open-house style gathering. All are invited to join the Community Roots Wellness Hub Party featuring music by DJ Charlie Kittens, activities for kids of all ages, free food and refreshments, and opportunities to meet our partners and give input to help shape our future.Â
