HRV ski grabs league title before state competition

HRV ski won the combined Mt. Hood League title against Sandy, Cleveland and The Dalles on Feb. 24 at Ski Bowl. Chris McElwee (above) placed first in both the giant slalom races for the boys at Ski Bowl to help the HRV ski team secure the Mt. Hood League Championship for a second year in a row. The title for the Eagles leads them to their final ski race of the season. The HRV boys and girls ski team will be at Mount Bachelor on March 7 and 8 for the State Championships. At State, the boys and girls will be defending their combined team state title from last season.

After a season full of cancellations and rescheduling, the HRV ski team was back in action in the closing weeks of February for the final regular season race before state.

On Feb. 24, the HRV ski team competed against Sandy, Cleveland and The Dalles in a slalom race at Ski Bowl for the final shot at the Mt. Hood League title.
