Hood River Valley’s boys soccer team put some off-field distractions aside last week, representing itself well in a 4-2 Northwest Oregon Conference loss to visiting Wilsonville.

Gone are the days when Hood River Valley can look forward to a break in its league schedule, as the Eagles girls soccer team is finding out in its first year of Northwest Oregon Conference play.

Hood River Valley’s girls cross country team served notice to the rest of the Northwest Oregon Conference last week, when the Eagles won a preview meet Sept. 3 at Blue Lake Park in east Portland.

Big plays propelled top-ranked Wilsonville to a 42-14 Class 5A state playoff football win Friday over visiting Hood River Valley.
