Letter to the editor: Thank you, stranger

My daughter and I were making a quick trip out to the coast, so she could see the Pacific Ocean and we could ride our cycles on the 101. I was letting her drive so I could get some sleep, second time pulling a trailer. One of your citizens and his wife waved to get her attention and get us to pull over.

We had a wheel bearing smoking on the trailer, but couldn’t see it because of your wonderful 50 mile-an-hour winds. He took the time to call NAPA, and we had 10 minutes to closing. I was able to get the parts and get us on our way in under an hour.

The gentlemen and his wife offered to go get parts, tools — anything I needed, but I was well equipped so we were able to fix.

In the event, running everything through my mind, I forgot to ask his name or address to properly thank him. I only hope he reads this and knows I extend my gratitude to his efforts that Sunday afternoon.

Maybe the NAPA guy knows him.

He was/is a great representative of your community by helping out strangers. Thank you.
