At the request of the Hood River Hospital Association, the Chamber of Commerce has called a meeting of representatives from the various civic organizations, lodges, granges, etc., to discuss plans for the financing and building of an adequate community hospital in this city. The meeting will be held next Tuesday evening at 7:30 in the County Library hall. Business men of Hood River reorganize the need for a larger and better equipped hospital here. It is estimated that such an institution would leave at least $25,000 per year in the city, in addition to being a great asset in promotion of community health.

Sergeant Jay K. Crews writes from France to change his APO and adds: “I really enjoy the home town paper. It makes a fellow feel a lot closer to home when he reads about all his friends and knows what they are doing on the home front. I find that I have a buddy when I receive a copy of The Enterprise. To read a home town paper when one is so far from home is like having a visit with an old friend whom you haven’t seen in a long while.”
