Oregon’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell by 0.1 percentage point in January to 7.0 percent. Compared with January 2013, Oregon’s unemployment rate fell by 1.3 percentage points over the year.

Hood River County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was little changed in January, falling by 0.2 percentage point to 5.4 percent, good enough to rank as Oregon’s second lowest county rate, right behind first place Benton County’s 5.3 percent. Compared with January 2013, Hood River County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell by 1.2 percentage points.
