BINGEN — Fall is in the air. Ghosts lurk in the fog. Big Britches Productions welcomes audiences to experience their first slice of Halloween this October. “The Woman in Black” will premiere at The Bingen Theater on Oct. 3, directed by Joe Garoutte.
Based on the novel by Susan Hill and adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, “The Woman in Black” is a haunting tale that will linger with you long after the curtain falls. Its spine-tingling story bends through time, tracing the horrifying encounters of Arthur Kipps, young and old. Criticized for reading a manuscript of his story with a rigid delivery, Kipps takes on a young actor to help dramatize the tale. The stage evolves into a fog-shrouded village where every creak and whisper drags you deeper into horror and suspense.
“This is more than a play,” said a press release. “It’s an unforgettable theatrical experience where terror lurks in every shadow, including the ones that follow you home.”
But be warned — “The Woman in Black” is not recommended for individuals under 12. There’s no gore, only phantoms. The play will feature intense moments of suspense, utilizing lighting, sound and fog to craft its chilling, ghostly atmosphere. Please be aware that there will be moments of flashing lights.
The Bingen Theater offers reserved seating, so grab your favorite spot. Closing night is slated for Oct. 18. For tickets and more information, visit bigbritches.org… if you dare.
