Seventeen middle and high school students from Hood River and The Dalles convened with other student leaders from across the state for the Chief Science Officers Institute at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande.

Chief Science Officers is a nationwide program encouraging student leaders to work with their schools and communities to increase opportunities to engage with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
