HOOD RIVER — The Gorge’s second annual Special Olympics Hood River Polar Plunge is March 1 beginning at 10 a.m. at Waterfront Park. We invite you to join the fun by signing up to plunge and raise funds to support athletes in the Gorge.

Special Olympics provides training and competition in 10 sports for children, youth and adults living with intellectual disabilities, providing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and friendships with their families, along with other Special Olympic athletes.
Local businesses have generously sponsored the Polar Plunge with more than $6,000 in sponsorships. Presenting Sponsor this year is the Mid-Columbia Association of Realtors (MCAR).
Vicki Brennan, chair of MCAR’s Community Outreach Committee and Hood River Polar Plunge 2025 planning committee, emphasizes that “Special Olympics Hood River has built a strong community of athletes across the Gorge in sports programs and activities. We are honored to serve on the planning and to contribute financially to this cherished community resource.”
