Gloria L. Miller of Hood River, Oregon, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the presence of her family.
Gloria was born on Nov. 19, 1943, in Ravenna, Nebraska, to Harry and Naomi Lorenz-Sorensen Miller and was the second of four children born in Ravenna. In 1953, the family moved to Anaheim, California, where Gloria attended school and graduated from Anaheim High School in 1962. Gloria worked as a CNA in Anaheim and Santa Ana, California, until moving with her mom and stepfather to Hood River in 1987, where she continued working as a CNA. In the 1990s, she began working for the Hood River School District for the Food Service Program.
Gloria enjoyed crocheting, coloring, reading, word search puzzles and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending church services with her sister at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Hood River.
Gloria is survived by her sister, Catherine, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1968, stepfather in 2001, brother Robert in 2007, mother in 2013 and sister, M. A few days before Gloria’s passing, Gloria lost her precious dog of 12 years, Harmony.
A service will be held at a later date in May at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Hood River. Any memorial donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Hood River in the name of Gloria L. Miller.
