Rabbit squad shines at State Fair

This year Hood River County was represented by five 4-H Rabbit Showmanship competitors at the Oregon State Fair: two graduated high school seniors: Breezy McElheran and Brandy Fletcher, and three incoming freshman: Eva Murray, Emily Mitchel and Carter Rigert.

Reports Payton Rigert of FFA, although competition is always tough at the state fair, all Hood River participants received blue ribbons in their showmanship classes. McElheran went on to be awarded Reserve Champion in the senior division, while Rigert received two callbacks and ending up in the top four of a large 50-participant intermediate division.
