In the heart of downtown Hood River, a historic building is being re-imagined for modern wellness. The Union Building was built by L.C. Baldwin Construction generations ago and now houses Outbound Wellness. This comprehensive care center is owned and operated by fifth-generation Hood River resident and emergency nurse Brooke Baldwin. The space was originally constructed by her grandfather.

Baldwin’s approach to wellness was shaped far from home, in high-pressure emergency rooms where she saw firsthand what happens when care comes too late. What she witnessed in emergency rooms was a recurring pattern: people arriving for care that could have been prevented, or handled earlier and more comfortably outside a hospital setting. Outbound Wellness was born from her experiences to become a place designed to keep people healthier, supported, and connected before they reach a hospital bed.
