HOOD RIVER — March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a cause meaningful to Hood River business owners Whitney Osborn of Spirited Roots Farm and Dani Annala of Dani’s Kitchen Shop. The two will host a pop-up shop offering custom cookies and flowers March 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dani’s Kitchen Shop, 1545 Osprey Drive, Hood River.
“With a stark rise in colorectal cancer in young people, both have had a dear friend diagnosed only in their mid-30s with the disease,” said a press release. “In response to this, Annala started an annual fundraising and awareness campaign in March 2023, gaining overwhelming support and growth each year.”

“After spending the last decade working in health care, preventive health is near and dear to me,” Osborn said. “I hope my participation will help raise awareness about the importance of every one of us ‘trusting our gut’ to seek screening and care while inspiring support through the purchases and direct donations to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.”
