Hood River Police, March 2 - 8
These charges which resulted in arrests: DUII (three), false information (one), reckless driving (one), theft (two), warrant (four).
Notable incidents
Five theft reports. Stolen vehicle, shoplifting (two), purse from vehicle, theft of package delivered to business. In one incident, an officer arrested an adult for shoplifting at a local grocery. The suspect refused to provide a name and therefore was booked and lodged at NORCOR on March 3.
Four warrant arrests. In one, a non-resident person was lodged for false information to a police officer and two felony warrants.
Three DUII arrests. In one, a Hood River resident was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving; tests found their blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08%.
Three hit-and-run reports at Rosauer’s and two unknown locations.
Officers responded to the emergency room at Providence Hood River hospital to help another agency gather evidence for a case.
Hood River Fire Department put out a brush fire at ODOT state shops in Hood River march 8.
The Dalles Police, March 7 - 14
These charges resulted in arrests: Drug law violation (two), hit and run (one), restraining order violation (one), theft (one), trespass (two), warrant (nine).
Notable incidents
Twenty-five animal calls. Dogs at large, jumping fences, attacking each other, barking; animal neglect, cat hit by car. A dog owner on E. 8th was contacted regarding a dog that a municipal court judge had ordered to be destroyed. A raccoon was hit by a car on 19th Street, taken to Taylor Lake and dispatched.
12 theft reports. Fraud (five), work tools from truck on 11th Street, about $1,000 in stored windows and a riding lawn mower, three packages from E. 12th Street porch, cooler from outside 2nd Street store, SSI check. In one incident, a reporting party said four people jumped their fence and stole cans. An officer responded and located an individual who was arrested for theft III and unlawful possession of meth. In another incident, someone took out a fraudulent student loan in Nebraska using a local’s name. And, a someone tried to buy from a store using two fake $100 bills.
Three mental health calls.
March 20, a burglary was reported on Sixth Street when security personnel saw someone quickly enter and leave a building. The back fence had been cut. Officers arrested a suspect for third-degree mischief and theft.
Two hit-and-run incidents. In one, city personnel had to clean up the debris of one of their light poles on E. Second after a hit-and-run March 11.
Found drugs at Station Five.
An assault (not domestic) was logged on March 10. The reporting party was hit in the face several times.
Wasco County Sheriff, March 7 - 13
Notable incidents
Three dogs, and three other animals.
A vehicle crash on Steele Road/Threemile March 7. Two other crashes March 11, on E. Second Street and Hwy 216/Juniper Flat Road. March 12, a crash on I-84 at milepost 84.
Deputies logged 52 vehicle stops.

Oregon State Police, March 7 - 14
These charges resulted in arrests: Driving while suspended or revoked (one), DUII (one), false information (one), reckless endangering (one), warrant (two).
Notable incidents
Two injury crashes. On March 7 a FedEx truck, turning north onto Hwy 35, hit a Subaru which spun into oncoming traffic, the driver getting minor injuries. March 9, a commercial vehicle struck a deer and blew its radiator on I-84, near milepost 148 westbound. On March 12, a single vehicle rolled on I-84 in Gilliam County, resulting in minor injuries. The driver said they hydroplaned while driving too fast for conditions.
Four non-injury crashes. March 7, a pickup failed to yield while merging onto I-84, Exit 62 westbound. The pickup’s driver hit a GMC and got a flat tire and a citation — and a tow, because the spare tire was rusted in place. March 12, a Honda Accord lost control on I-84 near milepost 53.5 eastbound and swiped a slope of rock. The Accord rolled over, stopping upside-down in the road. Neither driver nor infant child passenger was hurt. March 13, two commercial vehicles struck mirrors on I-84 near milepost 54 eastbound after one failed to maintain lane.
A theft report. March 8, a vehicle at the White River Sno-Park was broken into and items taken — including a Vosker’s game camera which continued to transmit photos to the owner after its theft. OSP sent an email to a Vosker’s law enforcement division to access specific GPS data on the camera’s last location.
March 8, a trooper stopped a Chrysler Pacifica for driving 78 mph in a 65 mph zone. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana, and also charged with recklessly endangering the juvenile passengers.
