Washington, D.C. — Last night on Truth Social, President Donald Trump endorsed Treasurer Stacy Garrity for governor of Pennsylvania.Â
In the 8:58 p.m. post, Trump called Garrity "highly respected and very popular," and listed a few of her achievements outside of office, including being a "successful businesswoman" and retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel.Â

Garrity, a Bradford County native, officially launched her gubernatorial campaign on Nov. 11. This upcoming November, she will be on the ballot alongside incumbent Governor Josh Shapiro.Â
In between listing reasons he was giving Garrity the endorsement, Trump said Pennsylvania is "a very special place to me," and referenced his electoral victory in the state in 2024.Â
No other Republicans are officially running for Pennsylvania's governor. State Sen. Doug Mastriano, who ran for the position in 2022, stated earlier this month that he would not be seeking the office again.Â

Less than an hour after Trump posted his endorsement for Garrity on Truth Social, Garrity took to X and said she was "honored" to receive his endorsement, praised him for his triumph in her state.Â
"In 2016, President Trump did what no Republican nominee in 28 years was able to accomplish – win the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," she said in the X post.Â
Garrity called Shapiro "President Trump’s number one adversary," referencing several lawsuits Shapiro has filed against the Trump Administration, and said she looks forward to working with the president to defeat him.Â

Also last night, less than two hours before Trump announced his endorsement for Garrity, Shapiro announced he was filing a lawsuit against the Trump Administration for the removal of a historical slavery exhibit in Philadelphia near Independence Hall.Â
"Donald Trump will take any opportunity to rewrite and whitewash our history — but we will not let it happen in Pennsylvania," Shapiro said on X.Â
