A grass fire reported Sunday night in the 5600 block of Cherry Heights road has threatened 8 to 10 structures and destroyed a pump house, leaving a home without water, according to a press release from Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue issued Monday morning. As of 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, only isolated areas of light smoke were seen on the leading edge of the fire, visible on the ridge east of Mill Creek Road. A Conflagration was declared by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown at 11 a.m. Monday morning, according to a press release from the governor's office.
