A missing Bainbridge Island, Wash., man who attempted to take his own life was transported to a Portland-area hospital after he was found by officers from Oregon State Police and Wasco County Sheriff’s Office Saturday inside a utility trailer at a rest area along Interstate 84 west of The Dalles.

On May 3, at approximately 10:23 p.m., an OSP trooper located a vehicle in the eastbound I-84 Memaloose rest area matching the description of one previously broadcasted for an attempt to locate related to a missing, possibly suicidal man out of Washington. After Wasco County deputies arrived to assist, they attempted contact with the 39-year-old man who they believed was inside a utility trailer attached to a Ford Excursion.
