WHITE SALMON – The Columbia High School girls tennis team won the WIAA Trico 1A District IV tournament on May 11, marking the first tennis team championship for the Bruins since 2008.
Led by Coach Ashleigh Coyner, the Bruins’ No. 1 doubles team of Gigi Clark and Anya Romero won first place and is headed to the WIAA state tournament May 22-23 at the Yakima Tennis Club in Yakima, WA. The pair went undefeated through the regular season and district and will look to expand on their record at state.
