River Bandits beat Goldendale, 21-3

WHITE SALMON — The Columbia Gorge River Bandits 17U team beat the Goldendale Timberwolves 17U team, 21-3, on July 3 in Goldendale.

The River Bandits (5-10), led by Coach William Gross, got going early and often against the Timberwolves (6-3). Goldendale’s Wyatt Bolton led the charge for the River Bandits from the plate, going 4-5 with nine RBI and scoring four runs. White Salmon’s Trenton Boydston went 2-5 with three RBI, while White Salmon’s Kellen Olson went 2-3 with an RBI and scored a run.

White Salmon’s Sam Knott got the start on the mound, pitching four innings, striking out eight while giving up two runs. Olson stepped in for Knott, pitching three innings with four strikeouts, giving up a run to help close out the game for the River Bandits.

The River Bandits totaled 12 hits and 16 RBI in their 21-run outing.

Next up, the River Bandits take on Aberdeen/Hoquiam’s 17U team July 12 at noon at Columbia High School in White Salmon.
