HOOD RIVER — Hood River Options Academy (HROA) is officially accepting interest forms for prospective students in grades K-12 for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year. Families looking for a versatile, alternative educational environment are encouraged to submit their interest before the May 15 deadline.
Enrollment Process and Lottery Information
As an alternative program with limited capacity, HROA uses a lottery system to fill available spots. It is important for families to note that submitting an interest form does not guarantee enrollment, nor is the process first-come, first-served.
K-8 students: New prospective families should complete the K-8 interest form.
High school students: Prospective high schoolers must have a form completed by a parent/guardian (or the student if they are 18 or older).
Current students: Current HROA students should not fill out these interest forms. Instead, they must complete the specific 26/27 Student Intent Form to secure their place.
The HROA Learning Model
HROA offers a unique educational blend designed for students who thrive outside of a traditional classroom setting. The program incorporates:
Multiple platforms: A mix of online coursework and digital resources.
In-person engagement: Required in-person testing, as well as on-site learning opportunities and community activities.
Diverse assessment: A comprehensive approach to measuring student success through various formats.
Before applying, the academy requires all families to review theHROA Handbookand the Student/Parent Keys to Success to ensure the program is the right fit for the student’s learning style.
For those seeking more information regarding the curriculum or requirements before submitting a form, please contact the academy directly at hroainfo@hoodriver.k12.or.us.
