District administrators were joined by community partners at a November tabletop exercise on wildfire preparedness.

HOOD RIVER — On Nov. 27, the Hood River County School District administrative team participated in a tabletop exercise at the high school to simulate agency response in the event of a wildfire threatening the community and schools. The district planning committee included Director of Safety Kyle Rosselle, Hedberg, Director of Technology Tod Hilstad and Communications Director Stephanie Hoppe, along with HRCSD Resource Deputy Pete Hughes, Claire Ranit of Columbia Gorge ESD and Charles Young of Hood River County Emergency Management.

“The intent of this exercise was to practice the systems and communication plans we currently have in place,” said Superintendent Bill Newton at the HRCSD Dec. 13 board meeting.
