Joyce Fitzsimmons was honored by White Salmon Valley School District K-6 Principal Todd McCauley during the recognition and good news portion of the Oct. 22 board meeting. Fitzsimmons was recognized as the longtime owner of the Book Peddler, from which she retired earlier this month. McCauley said the bookstore was the place where generations of students discovered their love of reading and thanked Fitzsimmons for her service. New owner Siena Balance has changed its name to The Little Minnow.
