Gary Fisher, Resurrected Rust team leader, delivers the rat rod “Roadmaster Jr.” to Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum on Oct. 11. The rat rod, made for $3,000 in 29 days in August and September, won the national Rat Rod magazine build-off competition Sept. 15. The rat rod, and its story, are featured in the current edition of Rat Rod magazine, and the vehicle is now on loan to WAAAM. Fisher and company built the 1933 Chevy delivery van from the ground up and trailed it to St. Louis, where Fisher drove it under the Freedom Arch on the start of its journey to Lebanon, Tenn., where the competition was held. This weekend at WAAAM, a visiting team of builders will construct a gazebo on the north parking lot, giving the facility another amenity for the variety of car-related and other gatherings happening there.
