Tim Roosenberg, an author and pastor for 25 years, has delivered his Islam and Christianity in Bible Prophecy seminar all over the country and even the world.
Starting today and running through Sunday, March 6, he’ll be at The Dalles Adventist School to give a free prophecy presentation that Roosenberg said is “unlike any they’ve ever seen before.”
“Typically we’re told by people that it makes more sense than anything they’ve heard,” Roosenberg said. “It is not a bash Islam event. It will actually be honest and look at both the good and the bad of Christianity and Islam. I am definitely a Christian and I take the Bible very seriously, but the prophecy points out the good and bad.”
A brochure was passed out to many of the neighborhoods in The Dalles. On the cover is U.S. President Barack Obama, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Russia President Vladimir Putin, Pope Francis and former Ayatollah of Iran Ruhollah Khomeini with fire, military aircrafts and a tank.
“We’re answering the question of what’s going on in the world today and what should each individual be doing based on God’s word,” Roosenberg said. “All we’re doing is putting the players involved on the cover in today’s world and then we’re going to go back to Bible prophecy to show everybody how what is going on in today’s world very specifically is illustrated in the prophecy already.”
Roosenberg started traveling full-time in 2011 after he wrote the book “Islam and Christianity in Bible Prophecy.”
“I thought I could point out to the world why you don’t want to join the radical extremes on either side because historically and prophetically the radical extremes on either side have not been doing what God wanted them to do,” Roosenberg said.
Roosenberg spends 10 days looking at Daniel Chapter 11. He starts at the beginning and goes all the way through each prophecy in sequence, in the order God presented it.
“It [prophecy] talks about the time of the crusades and it says both of these powers, the one that comes from the north of Jerusalem and the one that comes from the south of Jerusalem, will kill and lie so you take a look at the history and that’s exactly what both the Christians and the Muslims did during that time period,” he said. “So I just play honest with scripture and history and will do so consistently, I believe.”
All faith groups are welcome to the meetings, which begin Friday at 7:30 p.m. with “Islam and Christianity—The Basics.” Roosenberg said this first seminar as well as three (Feb. 28), which looks at the role the U.S. plays in the conflict and five (March1), which tackles the role of Islam, are the most popular presentations but most people come to all 10. Each new presentation starts at 7:30 but anyone who misses can get a repeat of the previous night’s at 5:45.
“We have lots a people that attend 19 out of 10 because of those repeats,” Roosenberg said. “People are quite amazed at what they’re hearing because they’re really not used to people playing honest with both sides of the coin.”
Free child care and a free meal will be provided during the seminar as well as study materials.
“I’m known for speaking quite quickly because I cover an awful lot of information in each presentation. The outlines each night usually gives the Bible text and some basic information so if somebody is taking notes they’ve got a chance to keep up so they’ve already got a good start.”
