2012.105 Alva Day Collection

Last week’s image, according to the History Museum of Hood River County’s records, shows a cooking demonstration, possible designed to help Hood River area resident and photographer Alva Day sell more kitchen appliances. Signs in the background say “Electric Timer automatically turns the oven on and off like having a maid at no cost” and “Heat Control automatically maintains the correct heat, indicates actual oven  temperature.”

The furniture is Hotpoint brand items from Hackett’s Furniture Company. Photo taken sometime in the mid-1900s.
