THE DALLES — Last year, the Granada Theater hosted two tribute concerts in October, Petty Fever and Eagle Eyes. These concerts proved successful and the theater has expanded on the tribute genre series this spring, with several events passing in March.
Through May 2024, J-Fell Presents will offer The Granada Tribute Series for bands like Nevermind and Taken by the Sky, Nirvana and Fleetwood Mac tribute groups. J-Fell Presents is owned by Jason Fellman, a concert promoter in the Northwest region.
“It’s truly a cool series, and the Granada is great because we can do all ages for the community. Shows like these are multi-generational music and we’re creating an option to bring the whole family,” Fellman said.
Theaters like the Granada are great for rock shows, Fellman explained, because they have infrastructure to support big events. Lighting, projections, effects, and video footage are necessary for the ambiance of these shows, and the theater in The Dalles can support the necessary programming.
“Old historic theaters are great. We can be mindful of the pit size depending on heavier genres and the theatrical elements make for a great experience all around. It’s just the right vibe for a rock show,” he said.
One of the shows is a satirical Spinal Tap experience, where they will show the movie and then have tribute band None More Black perform the music from the film. “They’re good musicians and they have their banter ironed out really well, it’s a unique show,” said Fellman.

Another show features a lead singer who is the spitting image of Ozzy Osborne, while the Best of Both Worlds Van Halen tribute has two singers to best pay homage to both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. These tribute acts are billed as the “cream of the crop in musicianship and representation” for a “fraction of the cost right here in our own backyard.”
Tickets are available for either sitting, standing, or raised VIP boxes with tables and chairs. The theater offers dining and full bar options at all events, 1929 Art Deco architectural beauty, and a state-of-the-art Martin Audio sound system. The Granada Theater can be reached at 815- 993-6585.
