Hood River Valley High School student vocal ensembles perform Dec. 6 at Riverside Community Church in Hood River, the first of three noon concerts in the annual series made possible by the Riverside Walton Music Fund. The concerts continue Dec. 13 with jazz pianist Tim Mayer and the Riverside Church gospel ensemble, and Dec. 20 with Riverside music director Diana Beterbide and friends. Here, Daniel Keneally directs the HRVHS choirs, in a multicultural array of music including Kafal Sviri, a traditional Bulgarian song by the Concert Choir, and Ave Maria by Franz Biebl and Diane Loomer’s Frobisher Bay by Chamber Singers. Spectrum performs the traditional Coventry Carol, and Chamber Singers round things out with “Desh,” a rousing Indian raga tune. Riverside is located at Fourth and State streets. The concerts are free.
