Gorge Artist Open Studio Tour artist highlight: Dawn Nielson

Dawn Nielson is one of the 52 local artists participating in Gorge Open Studios. A Stevenson resident, Nielson primarily features Encaustic Wax in her art. The “transparency and pliability” of the wax allows her to create both paintings and sculptures.

HOOD RIVER — The History Museum of Hood River County will host a fundraiser event on Sunday, May 5 from 4-6 p.m. at The Ruins, 13 Railroad St., Hood Rive, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hood River County Heritage Council.
