BINGEN — Big Britches Productions recently announced its latest theatrical endeavor — Neil Simon’s uproarious comedy “Rumors,” directed by Joe Garoutte.
Performances take place at the Bingen Theater on May 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. Matinee performances are May 12 and 19 at 2 p.m., doors open at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are now available at BigBritches.org, at $25 for adults and $23 for students and seniors.
And there will be a "pay what you can" preview of the show at 7:30 p.m. on May 8, with doors open at 7 p.m.
Set in the elegant yet chaotic world of an 1980’s New York City townhouse, with a grand set design by Lesley Saunders, “Rumors” follows the misadventures of four couples who find themselves embroiled in a series of escalating misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and hilarious cover-ups during a glamorous anniversary celebration. As the evening unfolds, secrets are revealed, alliances shift, and chaos reigns supreme, culminating in a riotous whirlwind of laughter and mayhem, according to the press release.
Giving their all to bring the laughs to life are Big Britches veteran actors Kathleen Morrow, April Garoutte, Matt Rankin, Shelly Peterson and Kelly Mahon, plus the returning Andrew Cushman. Veteran actor Kirk Thomas, returning to the stage after a 20-plus year break from theatre, joins alongside Tiernan Rynan, Todd Dierker and Courtney Miller, all making their Big Britches debuts.
