AG Rayfield: What we’re seeing is not about public safety, it’s about the president flexing political muscle under the guise of law and order

SALEM — Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield announced on Sept. 30 that the State of Oregon and the City of Portland have filed suit against President Donald Trump, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security challenging the unlawful deployment of 200 Oregon National Guard members to perform federal law enforcement functions.
