The SWCD will have a local contractor available to chip branches, small trees, and other woody debris for private landowners.
Contributed photoHOOD RIVER — With the help of the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Small Forestland grant, Hood River Soil and Water District (HRSWD) will have the last two free mobile wood chipping days next spring. Those interested should register at hoodriverswcd.org/news-events/mobile-chipping-service (click the link for the registration form).
Before signing up, please note the following:
“Since we have had such a great response to the program this past spring and fall, we hope to receive more funding to add more chipping days,” said a press release. “In the meantime, look around your property and start thinning trees and prune back limbs to help prepare your area for next year’s fire season.”
