THE GORGE — Oregon Newspaper Publisher Association (ONPA) recently announced its 2024 winners, with Columbia Gorge News taking 17 in total, including General Excellence.
For the first time, ONPA is joined by both Washington and Idaho newspaper publishers associations, now called the Pacific NW News Contest. Exact placements will be announced at the annual publisher’s convention July 18, this year in Lebanon.
Newspapers are informed of the categories in which they have placed, but not their actual placement. Awards are given for first, second, and third places.
“I am very happy with our awards this year, considering the overall tougher competition,” said Managing Editor Trisha Walker. “Going up against Oregon, Washington and Idaho newspapers and receiving a General Excellence Award is a huge honor.”
