THE DALLES — All Within My Hands (AWMH), the non-profit, philanthropic organization created by the members and management of Metallica, has announced the eighth year of its Metallica Scholars Initiative (MSI) with its largest grant to date: over $3.3M. 18 new US schools will join the returning 75 colleges in the fall for a total of 93 in the program. In addition, later this year, the Metallica Scholars Initiative will also expand to the United Kingdom in partnership with Capital City College Group in London.

Columbia Gorge Community College (CGCC) will again participate. Supported by a grant aimed at supporting the career readiness of CGCC students within its advanced manufacturing, aviation maintenance, construction technology, and electro-mechanical technology programs, the college will continue to provide high-demand skills training in the Columbia Gorge. As a six-time MSI participant, CGCC has received nearly $200,000 in support of career and technical education programs throughout the initiative’s existence, providing tuition support, tools and protective gear, and wraparound services that help students complete their programs and enter the workforce.
