HOOD RIVER — Sense of Place, the Gorge-based storytelling series that connects people to the history, culture, and ecology of the Columbia River Gorge, has opened sponsorship for its upcoming 17th season.
This season carries extra weight: after 16 years as a program of other nonprofits, this season marks Sense of Place’s first as an independent nonprofit. “Sponsors and audiences show up for Sense of Place season after season,” said executive director Sarah Fox. “Hundreds join us every month, and thousands more use our online archive and listen to our podcast. They recognize that Sense of Place offers something ever rarer and more valuable — a place where our community, with all its differences, can come together.”
Season 17 sponsorship information, levels, and benefits are available at senseofplacegorge.org; sponsorship closes Oct. 9.
Season 17 begins Oct. 14 at Columbia Center for the Arts, Hood River, with Jason Hartmann, Columbia Gorge Tech Alliance, and “Homegrown Drone: How a Rural Place Launched a Tech Revolution.”
