Payton Rigert receives honorable mention naming to All-American team
Payton Rigert, a 2016 graduate of Hood River Valley High School, recently received an honorable mention naming to this year’s Asics Girl’s High School All-American Wrestling Team. Athletes were selected by a nationwide panel of wrestling experts. Athletes from across the nation were considered for their achievements in high school wrestling, as well as the major post-season freestyle and folkstyle competitions. Rigert was one of 72 athletes names to the team and was the only wrestler from Oregon to make the list. Rigert, who was in May named Oregon’s Outstanding Female Wrestler of the Year, will continue her wrestling career next season at the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky.
