GLENWOOD HOMEMAKERS
Tim Kuhnhausen and Georgie Kokos were named 2008 Glenwood Prom King and Queen on Saturday, April 26, at the Hood River Elks lodge. Their attendants included princesses Dave'y Lumley, Neola Putnam and Allison Skahan; and princes Devin Dean, Tygh Schuster and Jimmie Smith. As in the past, Glenwood joined with Klickitat, Lyle, Trout Lake and Wishram for the annual gala. When asked what the theme was, King Tim replied "I don't know, but there were a lot of balloons and stars for decorations." He further reported that everyone had a good time!
Just a reminder that the Mt. Adams Cemetery cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in helping is encouraged to bring yard tools and gloves. Lunch will be provided. Another wonderful Glenwood tradition is the Mother's Day Tea. This annual event will be held Thursday, May 8, at 1 p.m. in the school gym. The senior class mothers will be recognized, and all local mothers and grandmothers are invited to enjoy the entertainment. Refreshments will be provided by the Public School Employees.
The third quarter honor roll list has been released. Glenwood School students earning honor roll recognition include seniors Dave'y Lumley, Anthony Settler and Jimmie Smith; junior Neola Putnam; sophomores Audrey Hill, Amy Keithly and Brian Langfield; freshmen Mariah Smith and Kaylene Tyndall; seventh graders Dakota Jones and Jaylin Throop; sixth graders Jonathan Throop and Kyle Wilkins. Congratulations to each of the students who worked hard for the honor roll designation.
The Trout Lake Glenwood High School and Glenwood Middle School track and field seasons are rapidly drawing to a close. The middle school team will host its last two meets on May 8 and 15 at 4 p.m. The TLG high school team will host league competition at the Glenwood track on May 9 at 3 p.m. If you haven't had a chance to watch our local track and field stars this spring, you have three great opportunities to do so coming right up!
LeeAnn Burgin and her soon-to-be born baby girl, Macey Rae, were honored with a baby shower on April 19. The event ensured that little Macey will be a very well-dressed little girl! Everyone in attendance had a great visit too!
