Former Klickitat County high school track and field standouts Jenna Dean of Glenwood, Jordan Graeme of Klickitat and Lindsey Blaine of Lyle have something else in common.
All three will be competing in the women's javelin in two weeks at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
Dean, a Washington State University junior, and Graeme, an Eastern Washington sophomore, will be making their first trip to nationals.
Each qualified last weekend during the West Regional Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.
Dean placed second in the competition with a throw of 164 feet, 2 inches, which came on her first attempt.
Graeme finished fourth (158-6), becoming the first EWU athlete to qualify for an NCAA meet since 2001.
Blaine, a sophomore at Purdue University, qualified for her second national championships with a fourth-place effort (159-1) at the Mideast Regional meet in Bloomington, Ind.
Her teammate, Kara Patterson, a freshman from Vancouver, won the event with a toss of 170-4.
