NEW FIREFIGHTERS: The newest members of the Hood River Fire and EMS (Emergency Medical Service) staff, Sy Yean, left, and Adam Wheat, both firefighter-paramedics, take the oath of office Monday at city council. They were introduced by Fire Chief Leonard Damian, and sworn in by Mayor Paul Blackburn. Yean previously worked for Corvallis Fire Department, and Wheat, from Hood River, has worked as a temporary employee for the past six months.
