Mark your calendars! The public is invited to a spring series of music and history entitled "American Heritage Music" produced and narrated by local musician Andre Lamoreaux.
The programs will be held on selected Friday evenings March through June 2008 in the White Salmon Valley Community Library's Sprint/Baker Gallery.
The first program in the series, "The Birth of the Blues," will be on Friday, March 28, at 7 p.m.
The evening will include a narrative history interspersed with musical performances depicting the development and integration of "The Blues" into modern American music.
Participating musicians for the first program include: Andre Lamoreaux, tenor guitar and vocals; Dan Lamoreaux, keyboard, dobro, guitar and vocals; Tom Lamoreaux, bass guitar, vocals and harmony; Bob Simpson, lead guitar; and Rishell Graves, vocals.
Future progams in the series will be: The music of "Jimmie Rodgers, The Father of Country Music" on Friday, April 25; "Hank Williams: Country to the Core," on Friday, May 30; and "From Blues to Country to Rock and Roll," on Friday, June 20.
All programs are free and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
