Did you know that worms can help make your garden grow? Want to know more about composting systems that can turn dinner scraps, garden and yard waste into valuable fertilizer?
Join the Jewett Creek Streamkeepers on Thursday, Sept. 29, for a field trip and workshop presented by John Longfellow, Klickitat County Recycling Coordinator.
The group will meet at the White Salmon library and leave at 6:30 p.m. for a walk to a local garden. Bring a flashlight for the return walk, and wear comfortable walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the five-block walk to the composting site.
Participants will see worm bins in action and learn about a variety of other composting systems. Find out what's working well and how systems might be improved.
Longfellow will share information about composing and answer questions from participants.
