Junior Peter Schmid's top-eight finishes in the 100-meter dash and the 300-meter hurdles last Saturday helped lead Trout Lake's boys team to an eighth-place finish at the 2004 Class B Track and Field Championships in Cheney.
Schmid also ran the lead-off leg for the Mustangs' second-place 4x400 relay that closed with legs by junior Adam Paxson, sophomore Dale Dick and senior Mike Hansen.
The team finished the meet with 26 points.
Also earning medals (and team points) for Trout Lake were Hansen (3rd, 110 hurdles), Paxson (6th, 1600) and junior Ben Steward (7th, pole vault).
Trout Lake's top individual finish of the meet, however, belonged to freshman distance runner Adi Robertson.
Robertson placed second in Thursday's girls 3200-meter final, with a personal-record time of 12 minutes, 10.86 seconds.
Her teammate, senior Jessica Moore, finished seventh in the high jump for two of Trout Lake's 10 points.
Lyle's girls scored six points, thanks to seniors and first-time state competitors Dawn Ullom and Mitzi McMurrin.
Ullom was fourth in Friday's Class B javelin, and McMurrin was eighth.
Bickleton junior Annie Hess won Saturday's Class B shot put for her first state championship. She runner-up in Friday's discus competition.
