The Stew, Rant, Hanuman coming
On March 22, Hookah Stew makes its triumphant return to the River City Saloon in Hood River.
If you 've seen these guys before, than you know what kind of party is in store. The band was formed in late '92 right up the road in Trout Lake Wash. Soon they were cranking out their own brand of music to enthusiastic fans around the region. Known for high energy shows and covering a spectrum of sound larger than that of most bands, Hookah Stew has proven to be a standout musical act that can whip any crowd into a frenzy.
The Stew incorporates blues, reggae, rock, pop, funk, jazz & hip-hop flavors into their mix.You never know where they will go next. With a fun first attitude that beams from the stage, one cannot help being cheerfully blown away by the skills of these young, yet seasoned groovesters.
On Saturday, Ramblin Rose is slated to play the River City. Looking ahead to the final weekend in March, the Saloon is blowing it out with McNarley’s Rant on Friday, March 29, followed by Hanuman on Saturday, March 30.

Wine bar offering Port tasting
This week, along with live music from Henry Schifter, the Hood River Wine and Internet Bar will be pouring samples of the Wind River Cellar's Port. It's a traditional port style wine with rich fruit and intense flavors and is produced from the rich and lush lemberger fruit of the Celilo Vineyard, which overlooks the Gorge not all that far from Hood River.
The wine bar will also be offering the Hood River Vineyards Marionberry Port which “is like having a delightful marionberry pie in a glass, except it's a port. Sweet and smooth with a touch of that wonderful fruit tartness,” says owner Danielle McCune.
