A two-act presentation on the Civil War will be held March 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Bowe Theater at Hood River Valley High School.
This 90-minute encore presentation offers a very intimate look at our nation's most turbulent time: the American Civil War.
The program, entitled "Taps: The Civil War in Word and Song," was assembled from personal accounts written by men and women in the North and South who lived through this 19th Century catastrophe.
William and Carla Coleman perform a blend of period and original music, and portray the individuals desperately fighting to bring a sense of civility and reason to their lives amidst the destruction.
The program is funded in part by the Oregon Council for the Humanities, an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
It is open to the public free of charge.
