Blues weekend at the Grill

Billed as the Terry Robb Special Edition, the group will feature Primich on harmonica and vocals, Terry Robb on guitar and vocals, Jeff Minnick on drums, and Geno Michaels on keyboards/piano/Hammond Organ.

Primich has traveled to the Northwest to appear at the Waterfront Blues Fest and to promote his new CD on the Antones label, entitled Dog House Music.

He is an ace blues harmonicist /vocalist/songwriter among a rare breed of harpists on the blues scene today -- one of those who learned directly at the feet of the masters and proved themselves on the mean streets and ghetto club stages of Chicago.

The Los Angeles Times said, "Primich's fat harmonica sound and tasty playing prove he's learned his lessons well." Primich hit the road hard throughout this barrage of attention, playing around the world at venues and festivals to ecstatic crowds.

Primich keeps his fiery mix of blues tradition and innovation burning red hot. Always the dedicated roadman, Gary acknowledges that playing for ravenous blues lovers across the globe is hard work, but it's what he has to do.

"I just love it and I always will," Primich said. "It keeps me going."

On Friday, the Robbie Laws/Geno Michaels Power Trio presents an evening of stellar R&B. Robbie, no stranger to the Northwest scene, is a gritty performer who exudes both musical fire and taste.

Terry Robb returns on Saturday, direct from his performances at the Waterfront Blues Festival. The group features Terry Robb on guitar and vocals, Geno Michaels on keyboards, and Marty Henninger (of the Cannonballs) on drums and vocals. All shows start at 9 p.m. and there is no cover charge.
