"Bluelight to Pucker Huddle: Discovering Klickitat County," the eagerly awaited book of stories about the county, is at the printers.
Ruth Bruns, co-editor, announced that final corrections have been made, and Klickitat County A to Z, the group producing the book, expected to receive copies within the next few weeks.
"We've seen the proof of the book in its final form," Bruns said, "and we are excited. It is beautiful! I think people are going to be amazed and delighted. The cover is a reproduction of one of Cheryl Cosner's paintings."
Bruns added, "More than 100 local writers and artists, who have contributed stories and memoirs, descriptions of wildflowers, scenic drives, and recreational opportunities, as well as maps and drawings, are represented in the book."
The publication is the culmination of two years of work by Klickitat County A to Z, a committee of Friends of the Goldendale Library. The book is dedicated to Wilma Olsen, whose bequest to the library provided financial support for the project.
"We knew there was a wealth of great stories about Klickitat County just waiting to be written down," Teddy Cole, coordinator of the project, said. "All people needed was a little encouragement. I hope people enjoy reading this book as much as we did putting it together."
