Ruben Mosqueda and Sharla Weber, both of Hood River, were married Sept. 6, 2015, on the train platform at the west end of the historic Union Building in downtown Hood River, surrounded by 160 friends.
A dinner reception then followed at Underground Music Station/The Remains Gallery, with happy hour cocktails created by Christina LaFever of The Dwelling Station in Mosier. Dinner was hosted by the groom’s family, provided by Michoachan Restaurant in Odell, and thumping ‘80s dance music courtesy of DJ Calvin Van Sissoren.
The bride is the daughter of Hugh and Janet Weber of Sherwood, Ore. She graduated from Sherwood High School in 1982. She also graduated from Portland Community College and is currently earning her Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Warner Pacific College, with a graduation date of 2016.
The groom is the son of Ruben, Sr. and Maria Mosqueda of Hood River. He is a 1992 graduate of Hood River Valley High and graduated from Mt. Hood Community College. He is employed at Mid-Columbia Center for Living.
Officiating was Justis Mosqueda, son of the groom. Bridesmaids were Joy Bell, Athena Johnston, and Jenna Mosqueda; Maid of Honor was Michelle Bell. Groomsmen was Rhett Mosqueda; Best Man was Enrique Mosequeda.
Bridesmaids wore dresses from Dream Street in Hood River. The wedding theme was rock and roll/Day of the Dead with red, black and grey.
The couple honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Ruben and Sharla were introduced by a mutual friend, Jessica Russo, LCSW of Celilo Cancer Center in The Dalles and Columbia Pain Management in Hood River. After dating for 18 months, the handsome groom creatively proposed with rotating index cards asking Sharla to marry him during a very loud concert in Portland on Dec. 19, 2014.
Ruben and Sharla will reside in downtown Hood River with their 17 year old son, Rhett, 15 year old daughter Jenna and two four-legged children (both mutts, adopted from Home At Last and the Hukari Animal Shelter, respectively), Quirrely and Herbie Hugh.
