City crews will again be clearing snow and ice from downtown area streets beginning at 9 p.m. Feb. 13.
Second, Third and Fourth streets will be cleared from Pentland St. to the roundabout at Brewery Grade. Crews will clear intersecting side streets and the bottom of Brewery Grade as time allows.
Crews will begin at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and finish by 6 a.m. Thursday morning.
Citizens are asked to assist with snow and ice removal in the downtown area:
• Business owners in the Downtown Area only are requested to shovel snow from sidewalks into the street because there is no private property available for snow piles. Please complete sidewalk clearing before Tuesday 12, 2019 at 9:00 p.m.
• Please remove all vehicles from 2nd Street, 3rd Street, and 4th Street from Pentland to the roundabout on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2019 by 9 p.m. so snow and ice can be removed curb to curb. You may park vehicles on adjacent side streets.
Thank you to the many citizens who have answered the call to help ensure safe flow of traffic and protection of property by shoveling snow from sidewalks, wheelchair ramps and driveways. City resources are stretched to capacity during winter storm events.
If you need help with snow removal, call a contractor or contact a volunteer organization.
