Columbia High won three of five matches here on April 12 to notch its second SW Washington League victory in two starts.
Hannah Sauter and Emily Lockman prevailed in two sets in their singles matches, and Clare Burkhardt and Rosalyn Slater dominated in their two-set victory in No. 1 doubles on the Park Center Courts.
Sauter dispatched Madelline Delcastillo 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles matchup.
Lockman handled Kendal Bishop in 14 games, 6-2, 6-0 in No. 3 singles.
Burkhardt and Slater shot past Allie Davis and Lauren Spreadborough, 6-3, 6-0. The pair improved to 3-1 on the season.
CHS’s Olivia Grim drew a tough opponent in No. 1 singles, Haley Keeling.
Grim and Keeling ground it out for two sets before the Rocket won the day, 6-4, 6-3.
In No. 2 doubles, Claudia Hernandez and Mireya Huila of CHS fell to Jenna Lafon-taine and Kelsey Bishop, 6-1, 6-1.
Hood River Valley 6, at Columbia High 0: On a warm Monday afternoon, the visiting Eagles won all six matches played on the Park Center Courts in straight sets.
Olivia Grim lost to Montsie Garrido in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3. Emily Lockman fell 6-3, 6-3 to Olivia Newcomb in No. 2 singles. Adilene Isordia dropped her No. 3 singles match to Jordan Zeigner, 6-4, 6-0.
In doubles, CHS’s No. 1 team of Clare Burkhardt and Rosalyn Slater lost their rematch to Camaryn Chambers and Tia Semmes, 6-4, 6-2.
Claudia Hernandez and Mireya Huila were dispatched by the sister combo of America and Crystal Flores, 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 doubles.
In the final match of the day, Alena Poliakova and Zitlally Flores of CHS went down in defeat, 6-0, 6-0 to Kirby Joseph and Bianca Badillo.
Schedule: CHS’s home meet against Aberdeen last Friday got cancelled because the Bruins did not have enough players for their varsity matches.
