Flora M. Gibson photoTHE DALLES — The Dalles High (TDHS) Riverhawks open the 16-team 2025 OSAA Class 4A state baseball playoffs at No. 2 seed Junction City on May 27.
The Dalles, which clinched a state playoff berth for the third consecutive year, finished the regular season 14-3 overall and 11-4 in the Tri-Valley Conference. The Riverhawks were second in conference play; The Dalles and Molalla tied with 11-4 records, but Molalla won two of three games in their conference series.
Coach Pat Clark’s The Dalles squad survived an 0-9 losing skid to end its main non-league schedule this spring, but the team turned things around by reeling off seven straight Tri-Valley wins.
The Riverhawks were scheduled to play a non-league playoff tune-up game May 21 at home versus Junction City, but that game was fortuitously canceled and The Dalles hosted 3A Horizon Christian of Tualatin instead. The Dalles won that game, 6-4.
Junction City (20-7) enters the state playoffs on an eight-game win streak. The Tigers finished second in the Sky Em League with a 10-2 record, the same as champion and No. 1-ranked Marist Catholic. Marist won the league series between the two teams, 3-2.
