WHITE SALMON — The Bruin Club, Columbia High School Athletics, and the Skyline Health Foundation are teaming up once again for the 2nd Annual Pink Week, running Oct. 23–31. The weeklong series of high school sporting events aims to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer, with all proceeds benefiting the Skyline Health Foundation’s Breast Health Fund.
This year’s Pink Week includes volleyball (Oct. 23), JV football (Oct. 27), girls soccer (Oct. 28), and varsity football (Oct. 31). New partner One Community Health joins the initiative alongside returning supporter Mt. Adams Soroptimist Club, which will host concessions during the Oct. 28 soccer match to benefit the fund.
“Pink Week is about bringing our community together for something bigger than sports,” said Bruin Club President Sean Ciemiewicz. Columbia Athletics Director AJ Valencia added, “We want to see the stands full and the community united in supporting both our athletes and this important cause.”
Last year’s inaugural event raised $2,000, and organizers hope to surpass that total in 2025. The Skyline Breast Health Program offers mammograms and diagnostic testing to underinsured or uninsured patients, helping nearly 100 individuals access life-saving care since its inception.
"ASB is excited to be involved this year. We ordered pink wristbands and held the t-shirt design contest with great results. We're glad to get more students involved and raise awareness for this cause," said CHS senior and ASB treasurer Gio Ruiz Sanchez
